Why Epilation May Cause Ingrown Hairs

I often receive requests from customers seeking advice on preventing ingrown hairs. While Folli Oil products are designed to soothe, heal, and help prevent ingrown hairs, skincare products can only do so much. There may be other reasons why you continue to experience ingrown hairs.

I've noticed that many customers reaching out for guidance use an epilator for hair removal.

Epilation is an effective method of hair removal, but unlike waxing, it doesn't exfoliate your skin. The upside is that you avoid the raw tenderness associated with waxing. However, the downside is that when weaker hair grows back, it may struggle to break through the skin's surface, leading to ingrown hairs.

Exfoliate, Exfoliate, Exfoliate

If you're going to epilate, exfoliation is key! Make sure to exfoliate using a loofah, exfoliating cloth, dry skin brush, or body scrub before you epilate to remove dead skin cells. It's also good practice to exfoliate every time you wash to keep your skin smooth and free from blockages.

Pain Relief Tip

Try soaking in warm water for at least 10 minutes before removing hair. This helps open the hair follicles, making it easier for the hair to come out smoothly.
