Our ingredients

Folli Oil is dedicated to clean, plant-based skincare products, that are filled with natural ingredients carefully chosen for their function, efficacy and safety.

We don’t believe in filler, our formulas contain minimal ingredients, so your skin benefits from the properties of each individual ingredient.

Here are our key ingredients and why we choose them.

Our essential oil blend:

After much experimentation and extensive research, we found five essential oils that work, and we add them to every one of our products. These oils also create our unique scent that our customers love.

Lavender Oil (Lavandula angustifolia oil)

Lavender not only smells divine, but it has a regenerating effect on the skin, stimulating the growth of healthy new cells. It also promotes rapid healing and helps to prevent scarring. If that’s not enough, it has soothing and balancing properties when used on inflammatory skin conditions such as eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis. It also has antiseptic properties which prevent infection from setting in.

Lemon Oil (Citrus limon peel oil)

Easy, peasy, lemon squeezy, this oil has astringent and bactericidal properties, that support cleansing and healing oily skin and acne.

Peppermint Oil - (Mentha piperita oil)

This baby stimulates your circulation whilst creating a cooling effect on the skin. Peppermint also cleanses and encourages toxic elimination of the skin.

Tea Tree Oil (Melaleuca alternifolia leaf oil)

Tea tree is a powerful anti-microbial, which is great for naturally deep cleaning any congested follicles, an incredible way to help ingrown hairs.

Benzoin (Styrax benzoin resin extract)

This deliciously smelling oil is extracted from the resin of the Benzoin tree. It helps wounds to heal faster, and softened hardened scar tissue, whilst also protecting the skin’s elasticity to prevent wrinkles.

Our star ingredients:

Although all of our ingredients are carefully selected, these are our shining stars that help to make Folli Oil products what they are today.

Jojoba Oil (Simmondsia chinensis seed oil)

Softening, soothing, and moisturising, the icon that is jojoba is a liquid wax, naturally rich in antioxidants and fatty acids. Jojoba helps promote the healing of the skin, and alongside its antimicrobial properties, it actually discourages the growth of some bacterial and fungal microbes that attack the skin. It is also highly compatible with the skin’s own natural oil (sebum, baby!) which means it’s beautifully absorbed into the skin. (Used in Daily Treatment Oil and Intensive Care.)

Papaya (Carica papaya seed oil)

Papayas aren’t only juicy and delicious, their seed oil is rich in Omega-6 and Omega-9 essential fatty acids, plus Vitamin A, Vitamin C and Potassium. It is easily absorbed and adds excellent conditioning properties to your skin. It also contains the enzyme Papain, which helps to dissolve excess sebum and impurities on the skin, gently removing dead skin skills. (Used in Daily Treatment Oil and Intensive Care.)

Tamanu (Calophyllum inophyllum seed oil)

Extracted from the seeds that grow on a tropical evergreen tree, Tamanu is a topical healing agent with a unique capacity to promote the formation of new tissue and accelerate wound healing and tissue regeneration. It’s excellent for anti-aging too. (Used in Intensive Care.)

Willow Bark Extract (Salix alba)

Unsurprisingly taken from the willow tree, this bark extract is a natural source of salicylic acid-like ingredients (salicylates) that enhance the skin cell turnover by promoting exfoliation. It is also well known for it’s amazing antimicrobial properties, which can be a useful remedy for congested hair follicles to banish ingrown hairs. (Used in Exfoliating Tonic.)
